Wall-to-Wall with Marlo Garrett

I used to provide these services and know the ropes.  It already can be frustrating, and then add a brain injury.  Someone will be lucky if they have a social worker.  A lot of times it's a family member who has to step in.  I don't see a lot surviving if they can't navigate the system.  And oh the stress!

That is great someone was there to be an advocate for you.  I'm sure that since you were in a coma you received your benefits quickly.  I'm so sorry to hear that you were in a coma though.

Prolly, I was in a coma and a friend who was a Medi-Cal (Medicaid) social/eligibility worker did it.

Thanks, Angela.  I am so glad you were able to receive your SSDI benefits.  So many people have difficulty going through the process and it can take two to three years to get benefits.  Were you able to get your benefits fairly quickly?

Welcome to the site.  If you have questions contact me.  You're doing a good thing.  I have SSDI and depend on it as opposed to family.
