Have you read the book "Against Medical Advice"? By James Patterson/Hal Friedman. (Patterson the novelist and Friedman is the Dad). I am reading it now and it is great. It's about a young man that develpos Tourette's Syndrome, and the fight to get the Medical community to see it as a medical/brain issue, rather than psych.
