Tell us about your experience with/connection to TBI

While not considered "officially" TBI, my wife Beth suffered an anoxic brain injury in 1990 that robbed her of memory and cognitive skills. Behavioral issues arose as well. After years of living with brain injury, developing strategies to overcome certain facets of daily life and a lot of research, we...

I have read your book and when my sister's husband had a motorcycle accident and was in a coma I bought it for her about the third day.  We didn't think he would make it that long.  Your book was extremely helpful to us in understanding about the injury.  We had no idea what people go through with a TBI.  There were other families in the waiting area that went through the same things.  We all kinda camped out in the waiting room until they were transfered from ICU.  Thank you for your book.  I wish people knew how bad things really are.  It is portrayed so different on TV.

Thanks for asking Kristie. She's doing pretty good. Of course, she has "those" days. Her short term memory is not as big a problem as it once was but that's probably due to 18 years of developing strategies to deal with it. She still has problems substituting b's for p's and vice versa. Outside her comfort zone she's unsure at times. All in all, she's A+ compared to 18 years ago.

    HI Larry,
I really appreciate your input on my journal entries. Thank You.
Give me some information please. What book would be best for Joe to read in order to get a true understanding of what I am all about. I want your book but can't afford it at this time. From what I have read about it it's the one I think would best serve him.
    Thanks

Hi Larry, thanks for the friend invite. Your attitude of loving both your first and second wife is so refreshing! (((Larry))) Thanks for the websites; I was aware of and have utilized Brain Injury Guide, but didn't know of the other one. I bookmarked it and will peruse it later. I had an eye infection that developed into a corneal ulcer-ugh!; it is healing well, but am restricted to computer use and reading. Vision is too precious to compromise. Look forward to getting to know you and your wife. Sending big hugs your way, Barb
