Since my accident in 1990, I've "acquired" epilepsy, depression, migraines, anger, and some other stuff.  What has occurred for you?

DEPRESSION bothers me because I can not drive any more.I had a min-van and had a lot of accidents on my right side. I have a limited field of vision= limited perifial vision to my right eye. The vision problem was caused by being assaulted on the right side of my head. So driving was a challenge. After having TOO many accidents in a 10 year period I finally made the decision to kiss it good-bye :(

I am so lucky because I live in New York City, that never sleeps, and there is public transportation 24/7. There is also para-transit for those who are disabled (seizures and nerve problems). So there is also another bright side of my TBI which is because of the transportation problem: no gas, no insurance, no parking problems, no chance of being stolen.  LOL

I continue to have pain at the point of impact, which I gather is unusual (but that shocks me).... I also have vertigo, depression (with a capital D) balance issues and now seizures.  I am not driving now--until I am without a seizure for a full 6 months... Now I am on so many pills a day it makes me gag.

I live 8 miles from ANYTHING.  The closest grocer... etc.  12 miles from a library, and only lived here 11 months prior to my accident (so friends are a big zero).  No transportation, unless it is my husband who takes me.

I've dealt with depression, anger, slips and falls, vertigo, fibromyalgia, PTSD, chronic fatigue, migraines, and now they tell me it's possible I have glaucoma. I hate the bump on my forehead. I feel like everybody is staring at it. I hate stuttering! I hate all the testing and the medications.

Short Term Memory Loss, Aphasia (wrong word choice) Anxiety & Depression, they go hand in hand. Lost friends, some family. Get really angry sometimes. Lost sensation on the right side of my right foot. No one knows why.

I'm 6 yrs fixin to 7 yrs post... I also have HORRIBLE memory problems!  Anxiety like woah!  LOL And ADD  I'm a mess.  I had never had a seizure but Dec. 28th 2009 I had 2.

Oh MY GOSH I NEVER want to go thru all that crap again!! I lost a month of work, I went back to work Jan.25th then my availability changed to only 5pm-9pm cuz my rents own their own cafe's.  They were the one's who took me to work, it's way too far to walk.  I couldn't drive myself.    So I only got Fridays.  I understood why I couldn't drive but it wasn't easy to be stuck at home.  Can we say CABIN FEVER!?!?!?  LOL

You know what is scary?  There are ppl who STILL drive even tho they are epileptic and or are in danger of having seizures.  I had a friend at work who did that.  Shoot he had a seizure when he was driving and got into an accident b/c of it. The week after that he STILL was driving!  GRRR  Then a lady(she  works for my mom) her bf messed with drugs which screwed him up forever.  He has seizures BUT the dude STILL drives.  WTH.  I do NOT want you to jeopardize my life and the lives of others.  Come on ppl THINK!

Sure I was stuck at home but I wasn't so stupid to get in my car and drive around.  Heck I wouldn't even move it from the driveway to the street.  Last week I was released to drive and I am still leery! What if by slim chance happen to have a seizure? I don''t want to kill myself OR others.

After my accident, I was in a coma for a month and left paralyzed on my entire left side (not anymore, THANK YOU GOD!) .  I had to relearn EVERYTHING over again!  Yes even how to go potty.  I regained motion in my left side.  When I learned to walk really good again I still had a little limp.  As time went on it less noticeable and u couldnt really tell unless I was EXTREMELY tired and or carrying something.

After my seizure it reweaked (if thats a word lol) my left side.  I limp again and it's noticeable...eh could be worse.  I was 5 minutes from leaving my house and getting into my car.  I love how Our heavenly Daddy protects us.

My seizure made it feel like my life had stopped and I was watching time go by.  Now that I have my independence back, it feels like it my life began again!!  I know it could be a lot worse so I have no right to complain.  I am EXTREMELY thankful its not (worse)!
