Rejoining Life 101

This community is about the struggles we all face "getting back out there". Head Injuries, chronic Illness, or any life changes that force us to withdraw from the outside world; all these things make us withdraw. This is about getting involved with life again, and having the best life you possibly can. Please feel free to share anything that helped you or held you back. I will try to provide info on any subject you request. I am an RN supporter, but also have severe back pain, Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Let's join together in support of Living la vida loca.

Please take a look and consider joining the new Realistic Hope Community for all those touched by traumatic brain the injury, the survivors, their family, friends and caregivers.

The Realistic Hope Community is not a replacement for any existing site, it is meant to fill a void that exists today. A central place to learn how others have turned the challenges presented to them into meaningful opportunity, a place that offers hope based on the experience of others.
Success of this site is dependent on all of us whose lives have been touched to share our success and struggles with others. One of the gifts that all of us can give is to share our experience with others in a way to offer realistic hope.

Take a few minutes; join the site (to make it easy you can join using your facebook account). Take another minute to contribute to one of the forums. Just provide one piece of input to one of the following five forums:

    • What do I wish I had known?
    • What do I wish I had done?
    • Who helped me the most?
    • What helped me the most?
    • How could others have provided additional help?

Is this important? Will we make a difference? YES! There is no school for living with a TBI, for those lives who have been impacted or for their caregivers. Please help us create site that becomes the place for all to learn from how we have learned to live with the challenges presented by a TBI

I made the decision to rejoin life 45-years ago. It is the hardest of decisions. It also is the decision of most reward. It took me another 30 years to decide to invest in being the best that I can be. I try to use my experience to provide courage and confidence to others to make these hard decisions today.  The hard part does not stop with the decision.  Rejoining is hard. - for me: simply stated the reward -  wonderful wife, kids and soon to be five grand kids

Imagine a 5 year old grabbing my hand - "grandpa how about just you and me....."

Hard yes.. Am I happy I did it :)
