Hello, Just for fun topic to get us going-How tired do you get?.

Hello and welcome to this new community. The question is How tired do you get? Do you folks get fatigued as part of your injury? Well, I have terrible fatigue. This is my humorous look at fatigue. (sorry about the music if it's obnoxious. I can"t figure out how to ditch it without starting all over, and this took a long time to do). Your answers can be funny, or serious and we can address both.

i actually kinda like the music.  makes me wanna dance.  :)  that will wake you up.

hm, my fatigue comes and goes...sometimes it's so bad that i am stuck in bed all day, or have to just lie around the house.  sometimes it's good and i can make it through a full day.  right now, i'd say it's in between - i am finishing up graduate school, and i mostly went to school part time.  i know i will have to work part time when i get a job, which is okay with me.  i get worn out easy.  how tired do you get?

THAT is GREAT!  I love it.

My fatique fluxes with my emotional well being, and how well I pace myself.  I work really hard on my farm--though there are days when I just can't function well at all.

One thing that helps me is to break up my work schedule by setting a timer and FORCING myself to take a break.  My 'job' is never ending... so I MUST find a way to get a break.  I try to always carry a cold drink with me (lemonade or water) and I will sit in the pasture with my llamas and chill out... The best ratio I have found is working 60 minutes and resting 15.  If I remember to do this, I don't fall as often.  And I don't lose days to exhaustion.

Losing day to exhaustion is exactly what I deal with all the time. I can have a run of a week where all is going well then I have days of not being able to move. Lately I have been telling myself to just get up. Just do it. I push onward but fall back on the couch again. I need to find the secret to energy...........

Thanks for the great comments. I have started on savella for my fibromyalgia and at the smallest dose it is helping me so much. The leaden limbs that feel like they weigh a hundred pounds each are gone, the fatigue is much improved. I am adding some info under aticles about norepinephrine and savella. Check them out and learn more about this important chemical in the brain.

PS-you can turn that music off on the slide show....grrr. I like it for a minute. wish I could throw it out the window at 2 minutes.

Just about any physical therapist will say that exercise is the key to building up your energy supply. Beth was told to walk for 30 minutes every day. Drinking plenty of water and vitamins have been part of the regime as well.
